Another Collared Swan

Posted by Picasa
Once Again I've had luck of finding a collared swan and being able to note the neck collar numbers. Although at the present I have little information regarding this particular bird, I am hoping that I will receive information on this and the other two swans with collars that I have found this year. It's wonderful to see these magnificent birds in the wild! This swan was found in small pond in reclaimed strip mine ground. The added bonus is seeing that for all the destruction wrought by the strip mines years ago, the reclaimed areas are now serving as excellent wildlife habitat and rest areas for migrating waterfowl.

Oh how neat, I'd love to see some swans, that's something we don't see around here.
